أعلن أسطورة الكرة السعودية، خالد مسعد، يوم أمس السبت عن تفاصيل مهرجان اعتزاله بإقامة مباراة بين الأهلي والأهلي السعودي في نوفمبر المقبل.

وحدد مسعد الذي كان قد اعتزل قبل 21 عامًا يوم 12 نوفمبر المقبل من أجل إقامة مهرجان اعتزال بحضور العديد من أساطير الكرة السعودية.

وتنظم جمعية رعاية الرياضيين السعوديين برئاسة الكابتن، نصار الظاهري، تلك الاحتفالية على ملعب “الجوهرة المشعة” في مدينة “جدة”.

وكان المؤتمر الصحفي بالأمس قد أكد على حضور أكثر من أسطورة سعودية للمشاركة مثل فؤاد أنور، محمد الدعيع، محمد نور وسامي الجابر والكثير.

ومن هنا تواصل “btolat.com” مع لاعب أهلي جدة السعودي السابق، نصار الظاهري، للحديث عن تلك المباراة، وقال: “خالد مسعد عاشق للنادي الأهلي في مصر وهذا سبب اختياره”.

وتابع: “هناك علاقات مميزة أيضًا بين الناديين منذ فترة كبيرة وهو ما سهل الاتفاق بين الطرفين لإقامة المهرجان”.

وعن سبب تأخر حفل اعتزال خالد مسعد رغم نهاية مسيرته الكروية في عام 2003: “هذا المهرجان حلم لكل لاعب، لكن الأندية السعودية أغلبها لا تقيم حفل اعتزال للاعبين ربما فقط أهلي جدة”.

واستمر: “لكن حفل اعتزال خالد مسعد مختلف جدًا، لأنه مر بظروف صعبة للغاية في السنوات الماضية، وهو دور تقوم به جمعية رعاية الرياضيين في مكة المكرمة وهو الأول من نوعه لتوفر حياة كريمة للاعبين القدامى”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “الأساطير الذين تم الإعلان عنهم، ليسوا القائمة النهائية هناك لاعبين آخرين ولكن هؤلاء من وافقوا على الفور بالمشاركة”.

وأضاف: “ستكون هناك مشاركة ممكنة لنجوم مصرية سبق ولعبت في أهلي جدة مثل محمد عبد الشافي رغم إصابته من الممكن أن يكون حاضرًا، كذلك نتمنى رؤية مؤمن زكريا شفاه الله، عبد الله السعيد كذلك رضا سيكا ولا ننسى محمد بركات”.

وعن مشاركة نجوم أهلي جدة الحاليين: “حسب الاستدعاء الدولي من المنتخبات وبالتالي ربما نرى روبرتو فيرمينو وغيره من اللاعبين الأجانب والمحليين بالفريق الأول بمباراة الأهلي”.

Rothwell has also shone for Southampton in patches here and there since joining from AFC Bournemouth on loan in January, firing in two goals for his new short-term employers so far from 11 appearances.

One of those goals was a first-time wonder strike against Huddersfield Town last month in the Championship, the sublime strike helping Southampton get the better of a tricky Terriers side 5-3 on the day.

Yet to sit out an entire game for Southampton this campaign – with Armstrong playing in some capacity in every single second-tier game this season for his South Coast side – Martin will know utilising his full squad away from the Scotsman could work against Sunderland.

Zimbabwe Cricket has avoided what its board chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani called a “disastrous,” situation by being reinstated as a Full Member of the ICC. Zimbabwe were let back into the fold after satisfactorily showing the ICC there was not outside influence in the running of its board.ZC was banned in July for government interference into cricket administration. But following a meeting with the ICC top brass, Mukuhlani and the Zimbabwe Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry were able to remedy the situation.As a result, Zimbabwe will regain access to ICC funds and their teams will be back playing ICC tournaments.”It’s obvious that any further sanctions to what has been in place would have been disastrous in the country.” Mukuhlani said at a press conference in Harare on Thursday. “This means we will be able to settle outstanding salaries and match fees. We will now be able to run our domestic competitions while a lot of other development programmes already in place can continue.”The ground for the future way in Zimbabwe Cricket will be debt-free and will not struggle to pay salaries, in future way our core business will thrive and see us consistently thrive for doing well in major global tournaments and series across all formats of the game.” ZC has had a lot of trouble becoming self-sufficient. Gareth Southgate has rewarded Palmer’s excellent performances by handing him a spot in the England squad for the upcoming international break, which just proves how influential he’s been.

However, his current wage doesn’t reflect his impact on the field, with the number ten earning 'just' £75k-per-week, as per Capology, which is far less than a certain somewhat forgotten ace…

There’s no doubt about it, when Reece James is fit and playing, he’s certainly “world class,” as described by football creator George Benson, with his five goals and nine assists in the 2021/22 campaign serving as evidence for that.

However, that’s where the problem lies for the Chelsea defender, as reliability and availability have been a huge issue over the last few seasons.

The England defender has dealt with 12 injuries since the start of the 2021/22 season, with a hamstring injury being a common occurrence.

Unfortunately, injuries have also ruined his campaign under the Argentine, and he has missed 29 matches to date. James’ last match for Chelsea was the 2-0 away defeat to Everton at the start of December, having made just seven appearances prior.

Nevertheless, if the 24-year-old can find a solution to his constant setbacks, then he still has a minimum of four years left on his contract, which expires in June 2028.

This clearly shows that the number 24 earns just over three times more than Palmer does, despite being unable to influence the team on the pitch.

With James’ return to action not entirely known, if he is sadly out for the entire campaign, he would cost Chelsea £2.6m per start this campaign.

Overall, James’ unfortunate luck when it comes to injuries is extremely sad to witness, especially when he has displayed so much potential, and hopefully he can justify his large wage in the near future.

At present, however, it is looking hard for the Blues to justify forking out his exorbitant salary…
